Ford Motor Company

The Ford Motor company has a system that it fascinating when it comes to production. The company has make to stock items, but also builds items with extras for more custom features. The company its self is global but always focused on the best for the company. Innovation is the beginning and the future of the company. Ford is a leader is design and ambition as they create products that are best suited to where they are located.

Design Process

The make to stock process of ford begins on the assembly line. The line itself was premiered by the create Henry Ford. This is the beginning of innovation because now most car companies use this process to build cars. When using this process it is easier to have a set product being built. The prototype would be the stock item. This car or truck will be built in bulk numbers and sold everywhere. Other options are offered in smaller numbers. Aftermarket products that are sold in retail outlets are interchangeable and any repairs that may need to be done on the vehicles can be done by almost any neighborhood mechanic. Ford has always set the precedent on American automobile engineering, their manufacturing system allows for their vessels to be marketed at the reasonable prices that they are. The luxury line competes in safety, amenities, and long-term value just as any other that is priced 20%-30% higher.

Along these lines of thought Ford recently released a new stamping process. The new process will not only cut some production times, but could provide the automotive giant with new opportunities for revenue growth, including allowing consumers to customize parts and "possibly" licensing the technology to companies in other industries. It is also helping the company pick up the pace of innovation and look past the immediate horizon....
