Complete the Team Building Worksheet by answering the following questions in 200 to 300 words each.

1. Describe team members’ results on the Discovery Wheel and Develop your multiple intelligences exercises. What similarities and differences exist within the team?

A similarity that Team B shares is purpose. The team scored high in this area and I think it is that we share a common goal of college success. We have the want, will, and drive to graduate and we are learning the ways to keep us on that path. Another similarity we share is our low score in time. I think as we transition more into the university college level our time management skills will progress.

2. What are the advantages of having diversity on a team? What challenges might the team face because of diversity?

The advantages of diversity on a team is the recognition and acceptance of differences when striving for continual improvement in performance, correctly utilizing the effectiveness and creativity of the team, and valuing conflicts as opportunities for more effective team brainstorming. Diversity teaches teams to recognize and acknowledge the contributions that individuals can make by themselves, not just as members of the team. Diversity enables students to express and better understand differing points of view and ideas. This can lead to conflict, but this also leads to a variety of solutions and compromises. These solutions and compromises will turn conflicts into opportunities, a learning opportunity to strengthen a team’s conflict resolution skills. Diversity can help the team identify and capitalize on these learning opportunities. Bringing together people from a variety of experiences and knowledge backgrounds can help cultivate a sense of unity, but it can also lead to substantial team conflict that can damage the morale and derail the team's success toward achieving its assigned task.
