Why are human beings complex organism
Human beings are complex organisms because they have many different types of cells which are organized into tissues, organs and systems to ensure that the body functions efficiently and smoothly. The organisation in the human body is summarized as:
Cells > Tissues > Organs > Systems > Organism.
There are approximately 200 types of cells in the human body. Each type of cell has different shapes and sizes and performs only one specific function in the body. For example, red blood cells transport oxygen and glucose throughout the body whereas white blood cells destroy bacteria and germs. This characteristic is known as specialization of cells.
A group of similar cells work together as a unit to form tissue. There are four major types of basic tissue in the human body, namely, epithelial tissue, nerve tissue, connective tissue and muscle tissue.
