Education and the No Child Left Behind Act

Education is a very important component of our lives. The definition of education is the act or process of importing and or acquiring general knowledge, developing the powers of reasoning and judgment, and generally preparing oneself or others intellectually for mature life. Mature life means an older individual or person, therefore education in the adolescent ages is critical to our development. The No Child Left behind Act of 2001 was created to make certain that every single child can and will receive the same level of education. NCLB or the No Child Left behind Act is a federal law that aims at improving the performance of the United States schools. No Child Left Behind is an excellent initiative in the right direction to educating our kids. But what does it entail? How does it benefit our children? What are the pros and cons of this Act?
The No Child Left behind Act of 2001 that can be known also as the NCLB is a federal law that was proposed by President George W. Bush in 2001. This legislation has been and still is funding very many federal programs around the world that are continuously aiming to improve performance rates in the United States school systems by working on increasing standards and the accountability for the states, the schools districts, and of course the schools themselves. It also is providing the parents of the students more flexibility and choices as to where their children will be attending school for their education. NCLB is also promoting more focus in the reading and math areas in the school systems today. NCLB wants to make sure that all children are being helped and can meet their states academic achievement standards.
