Summary

Maintaining adequate levels of security in hospitals and healthcare facilities is one of the most difficult issues of security in the presumed public spaces. Healthcare facilities are solo practice, physician offices, nursing homes and ambulatory care facilities. A hospital is a small town, but with greater population density, with all its dangers, risks and threats, and also inhabited with sick people and visited by others who do not see the risks in the place. Need an accurate risk assessment , to keep active the self-protection plans, undertake solutions for buildings sick, implement a complete maintenance of the facilities, promote social awareness, promote the values of prevention and education, information, etc.

Security Risks and vulnerability

No matter how big or small a healthcare facility is, it will have some primary security risks and vulnerabilities. The scale of the vulnerability, will determine the risks of the facility. This section will detail these vulnerabilities and risks of these healthcare facilities. Hospitals and healthcare facilities must have a 24/7 security system that covers all the facilities even if they close at night. There is some vulnerability that not is related directly with the security personnel, which must be managed by a healthcare provider and possibly, receive assisted by the security personnel.
