Why is important to read.
How many times do people ask: Why is it important to read? Most of the people will tell you that it is because you need to follow writing instructions. But reading is not only that, it is also a form to acquire knowledge, and improve your vocabulary.
Reading is an important skill that you have to follow many instructions and to understand what the paper said. Imagine that you are a cook and you need to prepare a recipe. If you cannot read the instruction, you cannot make the food. Everyone needs to read in order to understand the instructions on a medicine bottle, how to fill out an application, or understand the signs on the road.
Since I was a little girl I liked to read. Reading helped me discovery many interesting things. I always like to read books of different subjects. I remember reading a book about the history of this country. I didn’t know that what the book said was real, but the episodic got my attention, so I looked for it in the internet to learn. Later, my son needed to make a project about the same episodic and thanks to reading I was able to explain it to him. This is an example of how reading can help you acquire knowledge.
Another point is that reading helps increase your vocabulary. Reading new words puts them in your mind for later use. Seeing how words are used in different backgrounds give you a better understanding of the word usage, their spelling and definitions. I learned a lot of words by reading them, and later I used them as part of my vocabulary.
In conclusion reading is important because it is necessary to read instructions or fill out applications, acquire knowledge to help your children, and improve your vocabulary.
