Question I:

There are eight key elements that define a culture. These elements are: language, religion, values and attitude, law and regulation, politics, technology and material culture and social organization:

A big factor contribute to overseas business success is cultural training. There are two main cultural training: simulation and field experiences.

Simulation is the kind of training that participants are offered the opportunities to experience the foreign culture through role – playing and other programmed instruction. In this form of training, employees are exposed various form of instructional materials like lecture, tutorials and reading assignment about the new culture. Participants can also involve in role – playing as well as case study. This method may include some form of language training course whereby participants are taught basic aspects of the language so that they have general knowledge of the language.

Field experiences offers participants to learn by experiencing the new culture. Employees can participate in field trips, where they visit and experience the foreign culture for a period of time. We can offer on the job training where employees are trained on the job. Furthermore, meeting key person in the new workplace and learn how to interact with the new community.

Parent company must identify a clear objective that might a little different with the parent company’s objective.

Question III:

These elements decided people assessment and judgment what is right or appropriate, what is important. No doubt, different way of thinking or judgment causes different reaction.
