Using Cisco Discovery Protocol and Managing Cisco Devices vLab (40 points)

Write a paragraph (a minimum of five college-level sentences) below that summarizes what was accomplished in this lab, what you learned by performing it, how it relates to this week’s TCOs and other course material; and just as important, how you feel it will benefit you in your academic and professional career. (16 points)

The purpose of the lab was to show commands that verify CDP settings and how to verify directly connected Cisco devices. We also learned how to copy a configuration stored on a TFTP into a router’s running configuration as well into a router’s startup configuration. The ability of how to enter a debug command to view underlying ICMP and routing messages was also shown in the process. This skill is useful to learn in both the academic and professional aspects. It will be necessary for troubleshooting and set up processes in both fields.
