Organizational Commitment and Communication

A successful company means one that can run things smoothly, and allows everyone to have some type of input regarding what needs to be done differently. Google is very large search engine that many people use on a daily basis. Google makes the lives of people easier because of the services the company can provide. This paper will explain how the different leadership styles affect communication, how the different sources of power affect group communication, the company’s motivational theories, and the commitment of the workplace to the organization.

Leadership Styles

There are many leadership styles that can affect group communication. When dealing with the company Google, one can look at six particular leadership styles, and some of the pros as well as cons of each style. The leadership styles are autocratic, bureaucratic, charismatic, participative, laissez –faire, and transformational. Even though there are a number of different styles that could work for the company, Google likes to go with the participative role.

Autocratic Leadership

Autocratic leadership is the most appropriate in most situations. This type of leader can keep everyone on track and focused. He or she is the one to take charge over everything, and makes the final decisions based on what correct. Leaders in this case do not have the tendency to consider the satisfaction of others in the scenario. The negative side to this form of leadership is that workers are less likely to not think for themselves because of the fear that if something is not done correctly consequences will follow.

Bureaucratic Leadership

Bureaucratic leadership has a more strict approach, and it makes sure that all involved follows rules and regulations. There is no room for error in this form of leadership. In addition, it also is a form of leadership that lacks in communication because one...
