INTRODUCTION

This report is presented the results of an effective strategic plan to evaluate the issues of the Library’s Management system. In today’s society, present Generation is experiencing a Science & Technology Era. Due to advancement of Science & Technology, particularly Information Technology has gone into a big change. Libraries are not an exception to such change. Academic libraries are increasingly challenged by digital rights management and digital creation issues. As the same way, our library, one of the well-known universities in the UK, is facing such kind of issues. The existing IT system in our library cannot perform properly because it is being outdated quickly. It draws some problems on the process of our library management systems, our staffs, and communicating with other universities. In addition, our librarian staffs are well trained with the latest technologies though, we are fail to provide user with fully access to a range of services. They often need advance re-training to serve the requirements of users of modern technology. The aim of this report is the library will make further progress of IT system by now towards implementing the issues. For being the head of the librarian, I have responsibility to solve these issues and we have the limited budget of £75,000 for that. I would like to propose my plan as following:

To initiate the plan, the library has a new particular team focusing on IT development Framework.

Stage 1

The first approach is that we went to explore ideas from other famous university’s libraries and collect some useful ways of employing technology in ways that help the library make best use of its resources. It may take 2 days long.

Stage 2

We made discussion from the outcomes of the research and took ideas from libraries running with modern IT working environment programme and the development of an advanced research computing service.
