Catalog Description
This is non-credit advanced level English course aimed at bridging the gap between Intensive English and English 009 academic English, proficiency. Emphasis is placed on listening, speaking, reading and writing according to an integrated content-based approach with laboratory support. Prerequisite : EEE 450 – 499 or equivalent

Course Learning Outcomes
1. Write a well-organized paragraph and begin essay writing using different rhetorical modes
2. Write an essay demonstrating understanding of the essential elements of the essay, with introduction, body and conclusion
3. Identify main ideas, and major and supporting details from lectures
4. Develop note-taking skills
5. Analyze and critically assess reading texts
6. Engage in speaking exercises which simulate various authentic speaking situations, demonstrating awareness of context and communicative purpose
