Abstract Cloud computing is a set of services that provides basic infrastructure using internet media and data storage on a third party server. Small and medium enterprises (SMEs) are beginning to embrace cloud technology to boost the growth of their businesses at a low cost. A Study by EMCZinnov in 2012 shows that SMEs contribute to one-third of IT investment and they find Cloud Computing as the most appealing IT features. Cloud computing since its inception has emerged as a new area in IT and is at the top because the idea of serving global cloud customers is coming to fruition. There is great pressure on SMEs in today’s economy to do more for their customers, to do it faster and also more cost effective. In these days of rapidly changing technology, global marketers and competitors are embracing a faster way and cost effective way of data storage. In order to determine the actual viability and efficiency into Cloud Computing for SMEs and any of its other potential benefits, this study will look at the political, economic, social and technological factors concerning Cloud Computing adoption.
