The 1971 Trim Jeans Weight Loss Pants was advertised in the June issue of LIFE magazine. The purpose of this advertisement was targeted toward women and men to reduce waist, abdomen, hips, and thighs from 6 to 9 inches in 3 days. This product works by inflating them with the pump, perform “Magic Torso” movements, and then relax for 20 minutes while keeping the pants on. These pants are easy to put on, comfortable, solid support for the four main areas, and only need to be worn a few minutes each day for 3 days in a row to begin and then several times a week thereafter. This article uses pathos, ethos, and logos to get people to buy their product. The importance of using these strategies is so that people can see how effective and easy this product can be used in everyday life. Being a certain size has always been important and this product gives you that without the long workouts and dieting. This ad uses personal experience, testimonies, keywords, and target everyone that wants to be a different size.

In this article the content is appealing to the values (logos) of being a certain size in both men and women. They use inches and days to get their readers to be drawn in to the simplicity of getting the desired size they want. They also try to appeal to the readers by putting in testimonies and personal stories (ethos) so that people can see what other results people have seen. The reader can base their decision of the product in reading the stories from others that have used the product. They use Mary Lou Wilhelm and Penny Dix as their main characters for their product to show how wonderful your body can look. They promise enjoyment and lose of inches in this advertisement appealing to emotions (pathos).
