The Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ) is a department within the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. This website is an excellent resource to retrieve data for quality measures. In addition, it is a tool to use to assist with developing strategies for quality program implementations. AHRQ is about improving quality and safety in health care, along with effective and efficient care to patients.

This website is a great reference to use because it provides information and guides for hospitals on performance improvement. There are extensive publications available on how to collect, interpret, and disseminate quality data on a number of issues including patient safety, reducing health disparities, illness management, accountable care and many more. This website can also be used to gather information on national quality improvement projects and case studies.
