First and foremost, the explosive ordnance disposal robots, also known as EOD robots, has many positive aspects. For one, these robots can be used in multiple ways. One of the more obvious uses is for the handling of bombs, such as moving, planting, and diffusing. As for moving bombs, these robots, being autonomous, can simply be programmed to get the job done. With that being noted, they have essentially no chance of “forgetting” their orders from a superior as a regular person may. Also, in reference to the planting and diffusing of bombs, these robots are obviously not living. This means, even via making a mistake, their failure would not directly bring about a human death. Furthermore, this ensures saving the lives of everyday soldiers, who may have a family with children. With all of these already stated positives being obvious, the fact that the robot can be used for simple reconnaissance already makes this product one of the best. Because of that, well-trained teams of military operatives no longer have to be put in danger, or can easily be placed elsewhere. Lastly but not least, these robots are sometimes used in actual combat with soldiers, in order to draw fire, and possibly utilize mounted weaponry.

Moreover, the introduction of the EOD robot into the military is fairly simple. Before there were such machines, during the World Wars (and before and after), bomb squads were used to defuse such threats, which ultimately did not always succeed. Even today, these robots are not used in every situation due to the potential lack of funding and possibly more. Ever since the initial use in 1972, the greatest importance of the EOD robot is to successfully deactivate bombs, also in hopes of prevent human error. Although they are controlled by humans, a person is not directly in the situation. These robots, as of now, make use of their fully rotatable pincer and grip to simply lay waste to or plant a bomb, which is as simple as it gets.
