PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY

To me personal responsibility means ability to eat and stay healthy, managing emotions, keeping my mind right, and treating myself with respect. Personal responsibility is taking responsibility for the things I do, accepting the consequences that come from those actions, understanding what I do affects those around me, and knowing how to improve with making necessary changes. By me staying organized, setting personal goals, keeping my stress level to a minimum, and staying focused I can achieve my college success.

For someone to be successful in college, he or she must be responsible. Personal responsibility is the ability to be in control of your life, emotions, and actions. Individuals and students who do not have personal responsibility in their lives can easily be influenced in doing what others are doing without any reason because they can put the blame on others when things do not go as they expected. Any individual or student without personal responsibility blames his or her instructor for failing big exams and tests. Although, a person with personal responsibility will not blame anyone for him or her failing a exam or test rather they critically will examine why he or she failed and decide that they have a responsibility to pass. People who know that their actions affect others are understanding to the need of others. They know when they hurt someone and are quick to apologize. So a student or individual who has personal responsibility is likely to understand the concepts better than a person who does not. Individuals or students who take personal responsibility to succeed in college more than those who do not take personal responsibility are those who do not allow situations to hold them back in their progress in life.
