How to Waste Time in Iraq

Back in the United States, or really any first world country at that, it’s usually pretty simple to find someplace to go to spend your free time. Need some time to kill? Just go to the movie theater, the bar, the Starbucks, the pool, the gas station to get a slurpee, or the strip club. But for soldiers deployed overseas in countries such as Afghanistan and Iraq, such leisurely places are non-existent. Being deployed in a combat outpost in the middle of nowhere, in a province nearly impossible to spell or pronounce; going on missions and patrols from anywhere between four hours up to 36 hours at a time, free time is the only leisure one could ever expect over there. But when the time comes, when the words free, time and you, have been magically placed into one phrase or though --- what do you do? Go to the gym? Write a letter? Something useful? Hell no! This is free time, and free time is best as wasted time! Finding something to waste your time can seem pretty difficult at first, but not to worry! All it takes is just a few simple easy steps and one can be on their merry way to a successful time wasted!

First things first, make sure you don’t have anything important going on. It would be immoral to just run off hiding in a corner to play hanky spank to help the time pass by faster when you have a job to be doing. Once you have determined that you do in fact, have time to waste, it is vital that you find how much time you need to waste until you no longer have time to waste. After all, life with a job is run on a schedule!
