Hard Rock Café and Their Operations Management

Hard Rock Café has been one of the most successful service companies in the world. The brand name recognition percentage of 92% across the world speaks for its self. Within this paper I will discuss ten decisions of operations management that Hard Rock Café uses to be successful. The paper will also give you my plan of action if I was to determine the productivity of the kitchen staff as well as the wait staff employed there.

The first thing you have to consider in operations management is service, you have to have top notch customer service. They do this by hiring employees that are competent in their job and passionate about music. They also keep up to date menu items to keep up with the ever changing rock music society. The second being quality management this is done by ensuring surveys are given to customers on their satisfaction. The surveys are set up with a scale of 1-7 with 7 being the best and anything less than a 7 is unacceptable.

Process and capacity would be the third meaning they have to keep restaurants capable of delivering quality food with a good atmosphere keeping the customer comfortable. Of course then comes location to be able to provide the capacity of memorabilia and customer base. The location is also important to the amount of business that could be forecasted.

For Hard Rock to up hold their name they have to also worry about layout since they are based on rock and roll they use past and present memorabilia. The collection valued at over 40 million dollars throughout the business. To keep this large business running they rely on good relationships with their suppliers as well as maintaining the right amounts of supply being received.

Keeping a good inventory is also important which they do everyday keeping the memorabilia stores stocked and casino machines in working order. In order for that to...
