Problem & its Background

Introduction

As technology continues to advance, computers are becoming part of everyday life. Computers are everywhere at work, at school, and at home. It is used in almost every field and profession like education to perform large number of computer application. Computers are highly efficient one. Processing a large number of records will not be a problem, likewise preparing students record and enrollment summary of report.

There are almost a thousand students taking different courses in Polytechnic University of the Philippines Bataan Branch. Clearly, the manual enrollment system and student record keeping is time consuming and inconvenient because school population. We are now in a modern world. And for us to adapt it, we need to use its benefits. And one way to use its benefits is developing a system such as the Student Information System (also known as SIS).

Every PUP Bataan Faculty had their accounts to assess the module for them to assess their students and, the students or a so-called “PUPian” had also given their own student number or their identification number as a student of the university which now, used to assess the Student Information System (SIS), allegedly, to make the enrollment process more efficient and convenient for the students, most particularly, the freshmen. The full-computerization of enrollment, according to the administration, makes the processing of enrollment papers of PUPian easier and faster and if possible may finish the enrollment in one day.

What is SIS? Student Information System, a module made especially for PUP Faculty and Students, a software application for education establishments to manage student data.
