Introduction:

Errors within police departments are common throughout the globe, regardless of errors, police are still held responsible for every action that is presented. However, if a negative action is present a possible civil action can be the result. In this assignment I will locate four alleged crimes and one civil action in a scenario.

Alleged crimes and civil action:

The first alleged crime that I have noticed was assault. This alleged assault occurred when the victim approached officer Jones explaining that someone had beat her up and stole her belongings. The women had lacerations to her lip and head.

The second alleged crime I noticed was strong-armed robbery; this occurred when the victim told Jones that she had been beaten up and robbed by a man wearing a red shirt and white pants.

The third crime I noticed was failure to comply with a police officer. This crime occurred when Jones approached the individual who matched the description of perpetrator described by the victim. Since the possibly suspect refused to comply with direct orders he can be charged with “failure to comply”.

The fourth crime I noticed was possession of crack cocaine or possession of a controlled substance. This crime occurred when the alleged suspect pulled out two baggies and a cell phone. Jones identified the substance inside the two baggies as crack cocaine.

The fifth crime I noticed was “obstruction of justice”. This crime occurred when the victim lied to police about being robbed and beaten by a man in a red shirt with white pants.

The sixth crime I noticed occurred when police stated that the victim was involved in a domestic violence incident.
