Planning for New Programs

Introduction
In the fall of 2014, Success University in Southern California is launching three new business programs at their San Moreno campus and online. The School of Business has set up team members to launch the programs, which include faculty, graduate, admissions staff, students’ services personnel, and marketing representatives from Corporate Office. The new programs are business certificate in leadership, Associate, and Bachelor degree of business administration. The team will gather information to launch the program and get the program started. In order to complete this task, a plan keeps the team on task. The strategies, steps, and process insure that the teams are successful in launching the new programs.
Team Plan
Team leader can gain trust once the followers feel comfortable with her. “Ingratiation occurs when the agent attempts to get you in a good mood before making a request.”(Hughes, Ginnett, Curphy, 2009). Everyday conversations take place before moving to business in order to build a relationship with the team members.
Discussion on ways to launch the new programs will take place in the beginning. During this discussion, members will brainstorm for ideas to introduce programs. Once everyone has had a chance to talk about an idea then a vote will take place for each idea. The idea with most votes is looked at one more time and once a common ground made then moves forward with idea.
Assign task to team members. Grouping of faculty and graduates makes one team, who will get information on classes required for each program. Second group is admission team, who find information on application and qualification for each program. Third group is the student services personal, who make questionnaire or surveys for fellow students and collect them.
