Introduction

1. Description of Company, including type of organizational structure

The University of Ghana is the largest university that offers different

ground campus degree programs in the associate, undergraduate, graduate and

doctoral level. The University aims for quality students who will not just enroll, but will

want to see themselves graduate from their degree programs. The enrollment process is

centered on the enrollment counselor, the academic counselor, and the finance counselor,

under specific managers, all reporting to senior managers, headed by a director.

2. Business Goals

The Enrollment Department would like to make more responsive to the needs of all those

involved in the students information for their enrollment process by 15%.

3. Project Goals

The proposed system would like to improved the the database capability for easy access to the

student ‘s information by 20%.

4. Scope of Project

The project begins by allowing the representatives of the three groups that are involved in the

enrollment process, mainly the enrollment manager, the academic manager and the finance

manager. These are the three groups that will access the proposed system, and they are the ones

that will analyze the present system, its strengths and shortcomings, and be able to help develop

the new system. The system proposed wants to integrate the functions of the three systems now

eing used by the present representatives.

5. Time Constraints

Define the time constraints associated with the project. If there is an absolute date or time frame by which the project must be completed, state it.

6. Budget Constraints

The project has been determined to have an open budget, where it was determined that the

amount must be justifiable by the proposed new database system.
