What are the positive aspects of stereotypes, if any?

Stereotyping classifies an entire group of people based on nothing more than emotion of hearsay from others. Not all stereotype is derogatory or demeaning. For example, stereotyping Asians as being intelligent. Other than an example like this, I don’t really see anything positive from stereotyping.
