Three Day food intake summary
For three days I keep a journal of everything that I ate and drunk. By participating in a three day food intake activity, I learned some informational things that I did not know about my eating habits. I was surprised by some of the facts because I thought that I was a very healthy eater. Proteins, carbohydrates, and lipids are important to a person’s daily food intake. I am not happy with my eating habits.
The foods that provide protein from my recorded daily intake are raisin bran cereal, battered fish, french fries, hush puppies, 2% low fat milk, Applebee`s steak, fried potatoes, pepperoni pizza, Pepsi cola, lemonade, country steak biscuit, chicken tenders, tuna subway on wheat. The foods that provide carbohydrates are raisin bran cereal, battered fish, french fries, hush puppies, 2% low fat milk, Applebee`s steak, fried potatoes, pepperoni pizza, Pepsi cola, lemonade, country steak biscuit, chicken tenders, tuna subway on wheat. The foods that provide lipids from my daily intake are fries, chicken tenders, pizza, raisin bran cereal, and 2% low fat milk. I would add the following foods to achieve my goal and keep other nutrients in balance such as whole wheat bread, steamed vegetables, cheese, and fresh fruit. I would remove fast foods and fried foods from my daily intake to keep other nutrients in balance.
Macronutrient intake within the recommended range is important. Too little or too much of any of these macronutrients may result in poor health and a variety of diseases(nutrition md). If a person doesn`t eat enough protein on a regular basis the following things could happen as a result low energy, low endurances, reduced resistance to infection, mental despair, slow curing of injuries, extended recovery...
