INSTRUCTIONS: Browse MS Project 2010 Software

The purpose of this assignment is to gain familiarity with some of the basic features of MS Project. You will use an existing file to do this.

1. Go to the doc sharing section of the course eCollege site. Under the "MS Project Student Files" view, SAVE the file named "MSP Customer Feedback”

to the desktop or to your thumb drive under a new name: "yourlastnameMSP Customer Feedback” (Reminder: As you are doing ANYassignments, remember to save your files on a regular basis.)

2. Open MS Project through the iLab Citrix LINK in the Course Home, and then open the file that you just created.

3. Click on View>Gantt Chart and then View>Table>Entry to make sure that you are in the proper MSP view. This is the view that is most frequently used.

4. Browse the various submenus under each of the toolbar menu selections and the functions of the various icons.

5. Click File>”Help” and explore the Help options available through MSP. (Separately, you should review the MSP Help Videos in the Course Home, and “Project Management Quick Reference” in doc sharing.)

BEGIN THE WRITEN ASSIGNMENT HERE: As you perform each of the following steps, write a brief description of what changes occurred as a result of taking the action required and what information was displayed. One paragraph is sufficient for each step. Put your responses on in a MS Word document and submit it to the week 1 dropbox. Each of your responses should be numbered to match the numbers on these instructions, starting with #6.

6. Return to your file view as in #3 above. Move your mouse over the icon on line #1 of the worksheet in the "i" column.

7. Click on the Zoom In and Zoom Out icons on the toolbar.
