Demonstrative Communication

Communication has many definitions that explain the principles of how we understand information in which we make a connection between people and places. Communication requires the exchange of information, ideas, or messages. There are two basic forms of communication, verbal and non-verbal. Verbal examples of communication can be in the form of oral or written messages. Non-Verbal communication can be defined in the form of body language, images/environment, or gestures.

During the communication process, the sender also acts as a receiver or better known as a “transceiver”. Throughout the process of communication messages are both sent and received simultaneously. Portions of communication require listening, and observations skills to identify if the message is understood or has been received based on its context. This can be explained with the definition of Demonstrative Communication.

Demonstrative communication requires both senders and receivers to listen attentively and respond appropriately based on the context of the message. Listening is a learned process which requires the involuntary use of hearing messages. Hearing requires us to make a decision on whether we want to listen to the message. As we begin to listen or decode messages, we attempt to understand the context through physical and mental learned behaviors. Listening is an important part of the communication process, and unless you are able to decode the message you will not be able to understand what the sender intended.
