Euthanasia: the intentional killing by act or omission of a dependent human being for his or her alleged benefit. Euthanasia by Action: intentionally causing a person’s death by performing an action such as giving a lethal injection. Euthanasia by Omission: Intentionally causing death by not providing necessary and ordinary care such as food and water. I am against any and all forms of Euthanasia.

Although patients involved are experiencing unbearable pain and feel like death is the best option, Euthanasia is a rejection of the importance and value of human life. I am committed to the fundamental belief that the intentional killing of another person is wrong. The act of Euthanasia becoming widespread can become a profit enhancing tool for big HMO’s.

There are a few different forms of Euthanasia. Voluntary Euthanasia involves a person requesting to end his or her life. Non-voluntary Euthanasia involves a person being killed with no consent given. Involuntary Euthanasia involves a person who is killed expressed that they did not want to be killed and the last form of Euthanasia is Assisted Suicide which is the most controversial form. The doctor assists the patient in ending their lives.

Some supporting arguments against Euthanasia are: determining which patients are “terminally ill”. Medical experts agree that it is nearly impossible to determine the life expectancy of any particular patient. Although some patients are diagnosed terminally ill they can live on for years with their existing condition. Patients suffering from severe psychological disorders are not mentally capable to decide on whether or not to end their lives.
