This book is about the grades of student athletes. The book states that “there were no significant differences between the pre-season and post-season grades of students who participated in sports…” It is important to my topic because it shows that most athletes understand that they must work harder to achieve grades that are satisfactory. This will help me reinforce my case because the book shows the grades of student versus student athletes. This should give student athletes more information on how much they need to focus on grades. If they do not focus on grades, they could lose eligibility or scholarships. This book also illustrates that grades are more important than sports. It does not matter if you are the best athlete if you do not have the grades to get into the college, you will not go.

This project tells about the life skills taught through football. It contains interviews with coaches on life skill they have taught over their years of participation in the programs. The project lists the ways the coaches taught these skills. Coaches interviewed tell stories of players they believed got their message of the life skills they wanted their players to learn. “These coaches not only taught their players skills to be successful on the field, but one’s that carried to off-the-field endeavors.” This project shows some of the reasons several coaches have more effect on players’ lives than others.
