Cabela's was founded in 1961 by a young married couple; Dick and Mary Cabela from humble beginnings from their kitchen. Cabela's started from a small merchant business that offered fishing flies through print advertisements in all the national outdoor magazine and delivered through direct mail. The company introduced its first catalog in 1963 and over the next forty-four years, the business has continued to thrive and grow exponentially.
