B. 1 – Resource - Lesson #1 is an Internet research lesson for 3rd grade Science. This project will allow students to develop abilities necessary to do scientific inquiry; as well as understandings about scientific inquiry. Students will also develop an understanding of the characteristics of organisms, the life cycles of organisms, and the organisms and their environments. Students will be required to use technology to locate, and collect information from a variety of online sources; students use the necessary technology tools available to process data and report results in a one page report. The learning objective involved with this research project is that students will be able to 1) use the Internet to locate camouflaged animals, 2) use the Internet interactively to place animals in their correct habitat, and 3) design an environmental background in which their animal can hide.

Resource – Lesson #2 is an Internet research lesson for 3rd grade Social Studies. This project will allow students to develop abilities necessary to do online research; as well as discovering information about their own state or another of their choosing. Students will use the Internet to research information about the state of their choice. Students will be required to find 10 important facts along with the flag, seals and other emblems that identify the state. Students will be required to use technology to locate, and collect information from a variety of online sources; students use the necessary technology tools available to process data and report results in a one page report. The learning objective involved with this research project is that students will be able to 1) use the Internet to locate information on Kentucky, 2) use the Internet to print relevant information on Kentucky, and 3) paste the images on construction paper and create a one page report discussing their findings.
