I am very pleased to announce that the management at Weymouth Steel Corporation has announced salary increases and improved benefits for all salaried employees.

Due to the recent changes in the steel industry, Weymouth Steel Corporation has been faced with fierce competition from overseas companies. In order to compete with overseas companies and meet the current demand at a reasonable cost, new equipment must be purchased and installed immediately. Weymouth Steel Corporation has a long-term vision and strategic plan for producing state-of-the-art products at a competitive price.

Considering the future needs of the steel industry and the current operating costs, senior management at Weymouth Steel Corporation has decided to restructure the company. This was not an easy decision but in order to secure future goals of the organization, various measures had to be taken to reduce operating cost. As you already know, several hourly and salaried positions have been terminated. The management sincerely thanks and appreciates the work and effort of its departing employees. With the on-going restructuring it is expected that the working employees will be taking on more leadership and program level function within their respective work group.

The additional responsibility transferred onto existing staff was given due consideration and is coupled with improved benefits and salary increases. The senior management expects that employees will continue to demonstrate innovation and leadership in their respective departments.
