Castilla Roy’s theory of adaption model happened more than 40 years ago and is currently used in several areas of nursing particularly subjects of kindness and human discipline. Nursing theory offers the structural basis that is required for practice, and assist in advancing nursing comprehension providing an insight of the scientific method, and the nurse’s position in the health care world (Roy, 2009). Castilla Roy’s theory offered the nursing career with a structure to assist in furthering technique-based research with a practical reliability not yet recognized to the nursing field.

From a previous outlook Roy’s Adaption Model (RAM) is one of the main abstract frameworks supported by decades of study that has lead nursing practice. According to Shosa and Alkalaldeh (2012) Roy’s theory has offered the groundwork for the continued existence of nursing procedure and is used worldwide to broaden nursing research, procedure, and learning. RAM has assisted in connecting the theory of the human aspect of response to pressure and adjustment— that is a complicated element of the health paradigm.

A paradigm is a belief or practice that connects knowledge, viewpoint, and assumption that can be useful by the nursing regulation (Weaver, 2006). Roy’s theory successfully focuses on four paradigms (nursing, physical condition, human being, and surroundings) connecting science, viewpoint, and theory. RAM offers the nurse with approaches to combine the requirements of the entire individual. Models differ in their degree of concept with the more condense a grand model and the less condense a middle range model.

Roy viewed the idea being related to individual, surroundings and nursing as a significant part of nursing procedure. She also identifies the objective of nursing as encouragement of the four adaptive approaches.
