Abstract

Global business has grown considerably during the past several years. Because of this growth in the business realm, the typical methods of conducting business and finalizing major deals have changed drastically. Cultural differences have played a significant role in the success or failure of many of these attempted expansions. This research paper aims to analyze the aspects of Brazilian business culture in context with the Global Business Cultural Analysis of Brazil.

The purpose of this paper is to unfold and examine the major elements and dimensions of culture in Brazil, and how the cultural elements and dimensions are integrated by the Brazilian domestic business environment. This study will also consist of a comparison of Brazilian culture with the United States, and conclude with implications for United States businesses that wish to conduct business in Brazil.

Introduction

Brazil is nation greatly shaped by its different cultural ethnicity. It is the largest country in South American continent located on the Atlantic coast, and it ranks as the fifth largest economy among all countries in global direct investment in the world. Brazil is rich in natural resources such as bauxite, iron ore, platinum, uranium, diamonds, granite, limestone, timber, sugar and coffee. The rich diverse nature of the country’s culture is a result of mixture of races and ethnicities during the colonial period involving mostly the indigenous people or Amerindians, Portuguese and Africans. These Native Americans and ethnic groups left their huge mark on the cultural structure of Brazil, introducing different ideas, music, art and design, which have contributed to its unique civilization, creating a multicultural and multiethnic society.
