Film Being Surveyed: Batman: The Dark Knight Rises

1. How much did you enjoy this movie? On a scale of one to ten, one being hated it, and ten being absolutely loved it.

2. What is your favorite gene of movie? (Action/Adventure, Horror, Romance, Comedy, Mystery, Scifi, Musicals etc…)

3. Have you ever seen any of the previous movies in the series? (Batman Begins and The Dark Knight)

4. Would you see the movie again if given the opportunity?

a) I used stratified sampling for my technique in the survey. I used this method so I could develop a subgroup, both male and female, and then randomly select from each category. I felt this method was a fair and unbiased way to conduct my survey. The frame of my population was students at De La Salle and Carondelet.

b) I did not have any problems with anyone taking my survey. I made sure that my questions were clear and straight forward to avoid this issue.

c) The male and female demographics had a slight influence on me when it came to forming my opinion on the movie. I naturally thought that the males who took my survey would tend to enjoy the Batman movie more because males typically have a greater appreciation for superhero action movies. One factor in this is the fact that boys typically would play with toys like Batman growing up, increasing their appreciation.

d) Yes, the demographics of the people who had not seen the movie did influence my opinion of the movie. I noticed that there were many more females that had seen the movie compared to males. (females: 10 of 22 saw the film, males:10 of 12 saw the film)

e) After looking at a professional movie critics review of the movie, I found my opinion of the movie was very similar to his. I feel we may have similar opinions of the movie because we both had a previous appreciation for the earlier films in the series.
