Introduction
Stonewall Barber Shop is facing what many organizations face every day, challenges. These challenges come in the market or from competition. As Stonewall Barbershop prepares to deal with these challenges, they must face the issues presented and produce an effective marketing plan that meets customer’s demands, demonstrate a clear understanding of the market, the customer, and the competition. Marketing plans help organizations identify customers and target them with the appropriate services. Stonewall Barber Shop needs a marketing plan. In the following Paragraphs, Team B will identify issues that Stonewall Barber Shop is facing and recommend alternative strategies and based on strength and weakness; identify the best strategy for Stonewall Barber Shop to use
Primary Issues of Stonewall Barber Shop.
• Competition. With the male grooming industry is growing, Stonewall Barbershop is stagnant.
Alternative 1. Review competition to gain intelligence, and understanding of what the customer wants and what his/her competition is offering. Stonewall has fallen behind the competition by offering limited changes in 30 years. Stonewall will have to redefine their competitive area from barbershop to hair salon. Stonewall’s competition realizes barbershops are not reaching younger customers because they offer the basic in men’s grooming. The name barber shop also brings to mind something grandfathers use, thus catering to older men and not willing to meet the needs of the younger with constant change in hair designs.
Strength is gaining an understanding of the competition and what they are using to be successful.
Weakness. Focusing too much on the competition can give organization incorrect information and less understanding of what the customer really wants.
