In today’s society, billions of people across the world are accessing the Internet multiple times a day. Many people have the Internet on their smart phones, and at the touch of a button can check their email, their Facebook, their bank account balance, movie times, etc. One of these things, however, usually consumes more of the user’s time than the others. Yes, you guessed it: Facebook! A lot of people use social media and because of its accessible features, it is not only used by adults but also used by the young people. I believe that it is safe to say that majority of teenagers used social media. As the number of children and teens using Facebook or other social media websites increase, there is a debate on whether social media gives good influences to the youth or not. Some people believe that social media is nothing but a bad influence to the youth and some appreciate the good things it can do. At present the impact is seen by many, especially adults, as negative but as social media has grown, an argument can be made that there have been a lot of social and technical skills developed by young people through the use of Social Media.

Many children and teens love social media because of its wide connectivity, functions, and services that people can use for free. Because social media is free and easy to use, a lot of young people have been using it. Facebook is the most visible among various social medias today. Because a lot of children and teens use Facebook very often, a lot of people assume that this is bad for the youth.
