* McDonald’s uses this structure to ensure and manage a tight control over the firm

* To confirm an accessible and direct operation of the company

* So employees are able to improve their performance skills and familiarise themselves with the work

“McDonald's brand mission is to be our customers' favourite place and way to eat and drink. Our worldwide operations are aligned around a global strategy called the Plan to Win, which centre on an exceptional customer experience – People, Products, Place, Price and Promotion. We are committed to continuously improving our operations and enhancing our customers' experience.” (Wikipedia, 2000)

The purpose and vision for this organisation is to maintain the responsibility to do what is right in the community in the sense to mix social and environmental significances both into their restaurants and relationships. (Macdonald, 2014)

The goals they have set up can be picked out from the SMART guidelines (Williams, 2004,).

It is Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Realistic and Timely.

* Specific: Their vision is clearly defined; they have stated how they want their identity to maintain itself by keeping a clear and positive representation.

* Measurable: It is measurable as they can summarise customer satisfaction through surveys and the amount of consumers buying their products, and through profit.

* It is attainable as they already have customers who are loyal and very loyal indeed to their restaurants; this is from good advertising, staff, colour, and all other aspects which make McDonald.

* It is realistic from a business standpoint because they have the resources financially, globally and awareness to continue to grow their operations.
