Chapter I

Bolt was a second year student studying in Chatsworth High School. Known as the nice friendly guy, he was the popular guy who got along with everyone, from the gangsters to the nerds to the just plain weird. Everyone loved Bolt. However, what everyone did not know was the real Bolt. He was actually not the person that everyone saw him to be. In fact, Bolt puts on a mask everyday to face his classmates so as to create the “Mr Nice” image that everyone loved. He actually hated these people and thought they were brainless. Even at home, being the only man in the family, he had to be the nice son and brother to his mother and younger sister. There was not a single time he could just be himself, and he felt really tired.

Feeling sick and tired of the entire pretense in front of people, Bolt decided to take a walk to the rumored-to-be haunted park near his house to unwind. It had been a long time since Bolt had stepped foot inside the park. Ever since a couple committed suicide on the tree 10 years ago, it was rumored that their spirits haunted the park and Bolt never stepped inside. After walking for sometime in the park, he came across a huge underground tunnel. Curious where this tunnel would lead him to, he walked into the dark hole, and followed the spot of bright light at the other end to guide him.

Bolt finally reached the end of the tunnel and what revealed to him was a place just like the park he left, the only difference was that it was much cleaner and did not exude the creepy feeling the former has. He thought he was still at the same place, but he realized that there were actually people running in this park. The park had been deserted and abandoned by people for a very long time hence; he was actually surprised to see so many people running here.

“Excuse me…” Bolt asked a passerby, who walked away before he could finish his sentence.
