In the essay “Storytellers Shape Spiritual Values,” Michael Warren explains the dangers if the world is imagined for people by electronic storytellers. First, electronic storytellers are not personal and are careless. They are commercial and toward selling. Second, culture produced for the consumption by electronic storytellers is very different from our culture. People’s lives turn into whatever TV is showing. People’s lives are driving by personal ambition and consumerism. Beside, electronic storytellers make people not know what things to pay attention to. Michael Warren also tells us people can reclaim the stories by culture agency. I agree with Michael Warren’s ideas that the world is imagined for people by electronic storytellers has dangers.

Electronic storytellers tell impersonal and careless stories that are commercial and toward selling. Some commercials on TV have bad effects on children. A DIRECTTV commercial is playing on some channels recently. It wants people to know DIRECTTV provides every sport’s channels, and people can enjoy watching matches with DIRECTTV. The commercial scene is three people are watching a baseball game on a DIRECTTV sport channel with their IPhones in a bar. The waitress is very jealous. When they want more beer, the waitress put dirty water into glasses with beer. That is a very bad education for children. Children’s mind is not mature. That behavior makes children think if they are not happy for others, they can treat others very badly, and they can hurt others or even crime. The commercial wants to sell DIRECTTV; however, it ignores the side effect on children. Stories told by electronic storytellers are for certain interest and may have bad effect on children.
