I.  A.  6  ideal  love  styles  are  examined  to  help  get  a  better  sense  and  understanding  of romantic  relationships. 1.  Eros-­  Are  the  passionate  and  aesthetically  driven  lovers.                        2.  Storge-­  Are  the  lovers  that  come  about  in  a  rather  slow  manner.  It  needs  to  grow and  be  mended  too.                        3.  Ludus-­  Are  the  “players”  as  they  like  to  have  options  and  not  be  tied  down.                        4.  Agape-­  Are  the  lovers  who  love  unconditionally  and  without  a  hidden  agenda.                        5.  Mania-­  Are  intense  lovers  who  can  be  overly  possessive  and  overly  emotional  in the  good  and  bad.                        6.  Pragma-­  Are  lovers  that  are  concerned  with  finding  love  that  fits  their  desires  and needs,  essentially  what  is  practical  for  them. B.    A  color  wheel  analogy  is  used  to  categorize  the  6  love  styles. 1.  Primary  colors  are  related  to  Eros,  Storge  and  Ludus. 2.Secondary  colors  are  related  to  Agape,  Pragma  and  Mania

II. A.  3  studies  were  conducted  to  look  at  partner  preferences,  initiation  and  intensification and  the  roles  love  styles  play  early  on  in  a  romantic  relationship. 1.  The  first  study    examined  partner  preferences  by  asking  the  subject  to  name  and rank  characteristic  they  looked  for  when  choosing  partners.  The  love  styles  were  found  to be  strongly  related  to  the  characteristics  that  person  sought  after. 2.  The  second  study    asked  subjects  to  answer  open  ended questions/questionnaires  and  choose  between  set  answers.  The  results  showed  how  the strong  intensification  or  lack  of  were...
