Executive summary

Carl Robins is a new recruiter for the campus of ABC, Inc. Although successful in his first recruitment effort, he lacked the skills and follow through with the fruits of his recruitment. After only six months of experience with the company, Carl hired 15 trainees. Part of the scope of Carl’s responsibilities, he was to: facilitate the new hire applications, plan a training schedule, organize the orientation, put together the necessary documents, arrange for the drug tests, and other necessities in the normal induction and on-boarding process. Carl fell short of this when over a month had elapsed from recruitment to starting to plan the orientation and on boarding. Carl was left with a mere two weeks to pull everything together. With few possible viable solutions, the best way to work around the problem was to take action himself and call each new hire individually. By doing this, he can communicate the missing components of their application and make sure to have the new hires bring in the completed file on his or her first day.
