Communication Theory

Communication amongst teams and groups can be utilized differently within different organizations. Gender and culture differences can impact communication in those organizations between co-workers, managers, patients, families, and caregivers. There are several improvements that can be made. A recommendation can be given by just about anyone in an organization. Within the following writing these topics will discuss the communication theory in an organization.

Within every organization there are many different socioeconomic statuses. Income, employment, and education level will vary and can thus cause misunderstandings. Communication is the key to any organizations function, growth, and satisfaction. Groups are more related to a few people that work together to get to a certain point in a project or health decision. With a team there are several groups of people that work on the same target but in different areas of that project (Jungalwalla, 2000). With teams sometimes there is little contact with the other groups. A hospital for example is made up of several teams: patient records, doctors, janitors, and receiving area. These groups may have several members that work on different projects or items yet they directly affect the patients experience at a hospital and thus form a team. This team does not communicate directly sometimes with each other but work together on a daily basis. Communication is then used differently between them. For instance a group will talk to each other daily as a team may only communicate weekly. Some communication may just be in writing whether letters or e-mails. The following are a few different forms that teams can use to communicate: written letter, e-mail, public board, phone calls, in person, or via online chat.
