High Protein Diets

We all have needs physically and each part of our system makes a complete and whole, healthy person. A very important part of our nutrient systems are Proteins. They are macronutrients that support the growth and maintenance of body tissues and make us capable of developing and maintaining healthy over all bodies. Let’s focus on some of the protein good and some of the proteins bad points and see what we can learn about our eating habits.

There are several types of proteins in our system and each plays a vital part of our health. Each one needs to be the correct amount in our system. Too little or too much has adverse effects.

* Hormonal proteins are protein-based chemicals secreted by the cells of the endocrine glands. Enzymatic proteins accelerate the metabolic processes in our cells, including our liver functions, stomach digestion, blood clotting and converting glycogen to sugar.

* Structural proteins also known as fibrous proteins are necessary components of your body. They include collagen, keratin and elastin. These help keep our skin intact.

* Defensive antibodies are like little soldiers. They are a core part of your immune system, keeping diseases at bay.

* We have Storage proteins which live up to their name, they mainly store ions such as potassium in your body.

* Transport proteins are like the major truck lines, they carry the proteins in our systems. They carry vital materials to the cells.

* Receptor are sort of like a greeter or door keeper, they are Located on the outer part of the cells, and control the substances that enter and leave the cells, including water...
