Problem With Kudler Fine Foods

According to University of Phoenix Kudler fine foods 2003 strategic plan (2010) they has the opportunity for growth but needs to use available resources to do it. Kudler fine foods (KFF) is a gourmet grocery store that has premium meat, produce, cheeses, and wines. According to the owner the Del Mar location and the Encinitas location are not doing as well as the La Jolla location (University of Phoenix, 2010). The same business model was used for open all three locations as the La Jolla location (University of Phoenix, 2010). The business model had not been as effective for the Del Mar and Encinitas locations as it was for the La Jolla location. With the new location in Carlsbad California., which Kathy plan to open she will be consolidate the Del Mar location with the new location in Carlsbad California.

The Situation

KFF main issue with operation is the owner; Kathy Kudler she has the inability to allow her management team to handle the responsibilities of the day-to-day running of the business. Kathy visits and works with each store daily, which she prides herself on. However, her inability to delegate some of the responsibilities it is hindering her ability to run a well-organized and successful operation. With all of the managerial that Kathy has on payroll she is not allowed them to performing all of their managerial duties needed to run the store. When Kathy established KFF in 1998, she handles the purchasing, and inventory needs of each store make it her sole responsibility. With Kathy be the sole person handle purchasing some item has been unnecessary purchasing because of the lack of knowledge pertains to each individual store that Kathy lack.
