What they gained as a result of World War II? | The American Gov. came out with the GI Bill of Rights, which meant by law it had to help returning Veterans secure a sturdy job and a home paid by the gov. | It changed the lives of many women; Eight Million entered the work force in the war. Most of the women worked in jobs made for men. | The movement of equality/dignity was starting during the war. African Americans entered the world of music and sports in the early 1950s, They could also serve in the war |
What challenges they faced at the end of the war? | The soldiers were faced with the challenges of metal, (Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder) (Shell-shocked) | When the war ended, these new opportunities stopped for women. More than two million American women lost their jobs. | They faced discrimination when they came home from the war. |
What progress they made in the years after the war? | They received new Jobs. Obtained New Military strategies | Years after the war, women generally had more economic power Thus raising their status in society. | Breaking new grounds, in music and sports. A start to equal rights among Blacks. |
