Divorce

Law makers should make divorce more difficult to obtain because it has many negative effects on the children involved, there is other alternatives, and the divorce rate is so high that it has become socially acceptable.

I. Divorce should be harder to receive because it has a negative effect on children.

A. Many children who grow up in a home where the parents are not still together tend to get divorced too.

i. Children can develop psychological problems from the stress of their parents

getting/being divorced.

B. The rate of crime for children in a broken home are higher than children who are still in a home where the parents are married.

C. Children with divorced parents often times have difficulty adjusting to change and keeping a good social life.

II. There are other alternatives to getting a divorce that should be more looked on and

suggested.

A. People need to consider going to counseling in order to improve their marriage and

work it out.”

B. Individuals could considering getting separated in order to get away from each other

and have some alone time to think about things.

III. Divorce leads to depression and can have negative effects on the individuals.

A. Divorce will cause stress on a person and can cause them to not feel good about themselves.

B. Divorce will not only affect the two individuals, but also children if they are in the picture, and also friends and family.

i. Friends and family often times have to comfort the individuals because divorce is

something serious that can really hurt a person emotional, physically, and

mentally.

C. Divorce can be seen as weakness; people need to try harder at their marriages.
