Reflection Paper:

We went to two museums last September 28, 2010. These are the U.P. Vargas Museum at U.P. Diliman and the Quezon Memorial Shrine Museum at Quezon City. U.P. Vargas museum has 3 floors. Unfortunately, we are not able to enter the 2nd floor because it was closed when we arrived. It is a complex museum where different paintings related to politics are displayed there. In the paintings, at first, when I saw each of them, I didn’t understand what the paintings portray. Maybe, if we have more time to analyze it, we can better interpret them. I said that it is related to politics because some paintings there have pictures of our former president Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo together with her husband. I wonder why only the pictures of them are there. Another that makes my eyes glow is the sculpture of a naked orange man hanging in the center of the museum. There’s nothing more in the 3rd floor. Only an old machine and a video were there. The video is a complicated one where it shows about poverty, politics, sex, and crime.

After which, we went to Quezon Memorial Shrine Museum where the museum of the late president, Pres. Manuel Quezon is there. All the memories of Pres. Quezon signify how good and dedicative he is. I also found out that the Quezon Institute, a hospital of persons with tuberculosis, was named after him. Pres. Quezon died because of tuberculosis. I have learned that he is really a good person where he gave free service to his countrymen despite of his condition. At last, we also saw his tomb located at the center of the museum.

This day is a tiring day but enjoyable. Tiring, because after the museum visit, we played around the Quezon Memorial Circle. We took pictures and bought food while walking. I can say that it is enjoyable because I had with my friends and we hanged-out afterwards.
