Political Correctness

Political correctness or politically correct according to the Merriam Webster dictionary means "agreeing with the idea that people should be careful to not use language or behave in a way that could offend a particular group of people". The key word here is "offend" and in a politically correct world no one is to be offended or get their feelings hurt. Political correctness has made its way into our schools, government, universities, churches and workplaces. Political correctness leaves no room for moral standards. It instead demands that you become tolerant of everything and everyone. What it requires is impossible because in today's society anything you do or say is going to offend somebody. In today's society people with different views are being labeled insensitive, intolerant, racist, homophobic et. In a PC society you are not allowed to hold a different view from everybody else. No matter what you do or say people will be offended or try to take offense so that they can be a victim. In 2012 a Texas school district had placed a ban on Christian themed banners at football games because they were deem offensive and were seen as forcing there religious views on people. These banners were made by the cheerleaders and were not made on school property or used any school funds. These cheerleaders were not trying to offend anybody with their banners and they were certainly not forcing their beliefs on anybody instead they where providing uplifting messages for the football team. Political correctness is silly and it has no place in today's society.

Political Correctness has change the way we talk and the words we use. Certain words or phrases we cannot use like "broken home" instead we are to say dysfunctional family or "short person" we have to say vertically challenged. The list of PC words and phrases is long and it...
