Human resource management

Human resource management is an important function that is important in ensuring that the employees are comfortable and also providing serene working environment that is created necessary for attainment of organizational goals and objectives. Various aspects of human resources are known to exist and also integrate to ensure fulfillment of long term goals as well as attainment of vision and mission; they include Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) and Affirmative action, Human resources planning, recruitment and selection, Human resources development, compensation and benefits, safety and Health as well as employee and labor relations. All these once combined and effectively applied then it places the organization in a better place and employees are generally able to work effectively for the betterment of the organization.

Equal Employment Opportunity and affirmative action are human resource management functions that ensure equality is achieved especially during the recruitment process. EEO, on its part is generally determined to ensure that all people regardless of race or any religious affiliations are given equal opportunity to be able to access jobs as well as benefits and services in the workplace. This management function is usually important as it aims to scrap discrimination as well as ensuring that fairness and equity are achieved as far as recruitment, selection, rewarding as well as access of information is concerned. Affirmative action generally is a law or provision that endeavors to ensure that the disadvantaged members of the society and the minority are also consider for selection and recruitment, this rule aims at reducing any form of discrimination based on gender or other aspects so as to bring about equity.
