Social ills among teenagers and ways to overcome the problem

Nowadays, a lot have been said about the deviant behavior of teenagers. It becomes the common topic for everyone because there are many social cases that are related to them. Our education system, the media, teenagers themselves and their parents has been blamed. However, there is no need to point an accusing finger at a particular group but keeping mum over the issue is tantamount to condoning it. So, what are the ways to overcome the problems?

First of all, the guidance and caring of teenagers’ parents is important. This is because parents are the closest person to their children, thus they will be the person who understand their children most. It can help them to know or understand the problem that the teenagers faced and help them to solve. Parents should be more caring of their children so that they would not get involved in those social ills.

Besides, the schools should give good counseling to the students and also enforced the rules and regulation to prevent such happening. For example, teenagers are lack of religious or moral guidance. So, the schools should focus on shaping the moral or characteristic of the teenagers to prevent them from involving in those negative activities. The school should give harsh punishment when students are caught in these ill activities. Students should also be disciplined and given proper counseling in order for them to turn over a new life.

Furthermore, the violence and sex shown on television has become a problem to teenagers. Teenagers don’t have a mature mind to differentiate the good or bad morality. Thus, the media should give proper information to cub ill social activities happening to our teenagers.

In conclusion, everyone including religious, educational, and social institution as well as individuals and the media must cooperate to solve the problems otherwise it will become more serious. I hope all the teenagers would give a helping hand to build a...
